Brilliant Friends Club is for people who want to meet other women who share values, not professions. The one value that every member has in common is: we want to see other women succeed. We’re combating professional loneliness by encouraging relationships that are rooted in helping others bring to life the ambitious projects that have lain dormant or stalled. We help each other turn dreams into reality.

Mission
Brilliant Friends Club exists to advance the ambition of women by providing support through community (networking, educational programming) and capital (micro-grants) to help turn their ideas into reality. So chasing one’s ambitions doesn’t mean doing it all alone; the risk of trying comes with a safety net.
Who’s Behind This?
I’m Stacey the human behind the initiative.
Since university I’ve had a “fuck-off fund”, money set aside for exactly one purpose: to flip the bird to the status quo and try something I’ve never done before. I’ve fucked off in my life more times than I can count; but it’s always worked out. Following my gut, paired with a financial safety net, I’ve had a varied career and tried different interests. But it was never just money that saw me through; I always had help along the way to bring my ideas to life. I only succeed when I surround myself with the right people.
In the last two years I’ve had many honest and private conversations with women about how lonely their professional lives have become. Less friends in professional settings, more posturing than deep conversation, and less welcoming environments for non-transactional relationships.
So I thought I’d marry these two things together: build a community where women could find and develop deeper relationships with other accomplished, ambitious, professional women and help them turn ideas into reality. In turn, from their support with membership dues we can create a fund to support ambitious projects of women across the Greater Toronto area. What if we could have a city where more women’s ambitious projects lift off the ground.
